    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I was disappointed with this internship. On a number of days I had very little to do and felt like I couldn't learn as much as I wanted to, and also that I couldn't build the enthusiasm for the firm that I thought I would. I wish I had been challenged more. It's difficult to see myself working here in a challenging and rewarding career.

    2/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone at the firm was friendly and approachable - I felt comfortable asking any questions I had and enjoyed socialising with other associates and interns. However I didn't feel that my being there was any particular help to anyone.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given very good support by all managers and supervisors I worked with - I could always ask for feedback or help and this certainly put me at ease.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I wasn't very busy at any point in the internship; on some days I had very little work to do and I found this difficult. I felt like I got in the way of other people as I kept asking for work and this made me feel uncomfortable at times.

    1/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a reasonable level of responsibility when I had work during the internship - I went along to client sites and had the opportunity to speak to clients about the work. However in terms of the actual work I was doing, I was doing very medial, low level responsibility tasks. I wish I had been challenged more.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The main development area the internship facilitated was confidence within a professional environment, which I found very useful and which will certainly assist me as I start my career.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office was a great atmosphere - everyone was lovely, the environment was relaxed and it was a very comfortable place to work.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The initial induction phase of the internship was very well organised and I had a really good time. After this phase there were good intentions in terms of booking interns onto different projects but perhaps poor communication meant that often I wasn't needed/didn't have anything to do on such projects. It could have been very well set up but the firm shouldn't hire interns without ensuring there will definitely be sufficient work. Saying this, my manager really took into account what I wanted to get out of the internship, and I spent a couple of weeks in different areas of the firm.

    2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were a number of networking events which I really enjoyed and found a great way to gain insight into the firm from the perspective of junior members of staff.

    2/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Not very if the internship is anything to go by, however I'd like to think that this is because of the short amount of time spent at the firm. I imagine job satisfaction would increase significantly if I were to spend more time. I loved the firm, but was dissatisfied with the work.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • There was a great social scene- I really got along with my fellow interns and other junior associates were also lovely.
