The Role
Very much enjoyed it - great experiences and lots of opportunities to explore your chosen area and other areas of the firm that you could be interested in.
Colleagues made a great effort to include you into the team and give you challenging and substantive work, so you were actually doing something worthwhile that would contribute to the team.
Good support from both your incharge on the job, people manager at the office and your buddy (someone in the year above you in your line of service). They were very helpful in dealing with any problems and in making sure we made the most out of our time here.
Varied quite a lot - some days I had a decent amount of work to do but due to the nature of the client and problems in getting the samples for testing, some days I was lacking in jobs to do.
Quite a lot of responsibility right from the first day on the client site, as I would be interacting with the client straight away and dealing with issues/enquiries.
The technical skills will be less relevant to my degree (doing Assurance at PwC but Geography at university), but the transferable skills (teamwork, interacting with clients, data analysis) will be extremely useful in my degree and any other job I choose to do.
The Company
Very friendly - interns felt immediately included and people made an effort to get to know you,
A fantastic training week at the beginning of the placement which really helped build a grounding for the work we would be doing. Clear our working schedule and where we had to be, and lots of opportunities to get involved in different things if we choose to.
Invested in a 3-day training course in Staverton Park, where not only could you get a grounding of the technical skills in Assurance, but also build relationships with interns from across the UK - this would be further cemented by the Dragon's Den program, where the interns are encouraged to pitch an innovative idea about healthcare and get into teams of people from different offices, which develops our entrepreneurial skills and, if selected, would help our public speaking and presentation skills. We have a weekly webinar of information for our training, and the company makes a big effort in coaching us on the job to learn the technical skills.

Very appealing - the internship is a great opportunity for securing a graduate position at the firm, which offers significant career progression early on in your time as a graduate.
The Culture
A great social scene, as even though some of us may be out at client sites, we can meet each week back near the office to catch up, and when in the office will always meet up for a catch up. There is also a monthly social for the office which is a great way to meet people.
Socialising was a reasonable price, especially as the firm offers you a free tastecard, meaning that meals out can be more affordable. Cost of living is less relevant since I am staying in my university accommodation, so would have to pay this rent cost anyway (but fairly reasonably priced.
Brilliant, lots of different places and not too expensive!
A monthly social and a few other opportunities, although perhaps less advertised to the interns as we were only there for six weeks. Although it was challenging, the internship hours did also allow enough time to continue with outside work commitments whilst still doing the job.
