The Role
Really enjoyed it! The recruitment team are very organised and arranged some great networking events to help you settle into the company.
My team (Data Assurance, Newcastle) were absolutely fantastic during my internship. They had arranged for me to meet the whole team in a professional and social environment, which really helped me to settle quickly. They also made sure I got the most out of my time at PwC by giving me work aligned to my goals.
All interns are provided with a great support group. You are assigned a "Buddy" who is normally a recent graduate and are a point of contact for any questions you might have. In addition, you are also assigned a "People Manager" who helps you set your professional development goals and oversees your progress. Typically, you will also have another manager for your project work.
Not too busy -- I always had work but the environment was very relaxed. I never felt under pressure.
From my second week, I was working on client deliverables and travelling to client sites.
During my internship, I had the opportunity to code in VBA, SQL and ACL. All of these are widely used programming tools. This will be good for my CV and help me for my final year research project.
The Company
Very relaxed, sociable and enjoyable.
I have done a few internships in the past but none of them were anywhere near as well organised as PwC.
The firm invested a lot of money into intern events such as the 3 day induction, where they had arranged dinners/drinks every night. We also had the opportunity to travel around the country for various events and client work, where all expenses were covered. All interns are also given top of the range laptops and work equipment.

The Culture
Yep -- lots of events arranged for networking and my team were very social.
Newcastle is very cheap.
Newcastle is a very good night out.
Not that I was aware of.
