The Role
I found the internship to be an extremely rewarding internship. There was never a day where I didn't learn anything new, and there wasn't ever a day where I didn't push myself in order to get a task done. I felt as though each task I did added value to the team and the projects I worked on and as a result it really made me feel as though I was part of the firm rather than an intern.
Looking at value in terms of how much work my team members gave me and how much trust they put in me regarding the work I've done, then I would say that I did feel valued by my colleagues. As the internship went by, there wasn't a day where I felt as though I had nothing to do for the projects I worked on. Every day was both a busy and a fufilling day for me.
My supervisor(s) were very willing to answer any questions I had and also give me guidance on how I could best utilise my position within the firm and my team. As a result of this, it was fairly easy for me to assimilate into my team which in turn made the projects I worked on extremely enjoyable and satisfying.
As mentioned above, I was quite busy on a daily basis. There was never a day for me where I felt like I had nothing to do.
A fair amount. I was in charge of doing a lot of things with regards to the projects I worked on. But at the same time, the amount of responsibility I was given was also very manageable for a new joiner like myself.
Definitely the attention to detail. As I dealt with excel fairly often during my internship, attention to detail naturally came with this.
The Company
Really good. Since my team as a whole was very small, everyone in my team knew each other and so conversations naturally flew out.Everyone was also very supportive of each other and was very willing to help each other when needed.
I was fortunate enough to start my internship just as a big project was starting up. As a result I had things to do from the very start of my internship and got involved with the project straight away.
We had training sessions during the very first week of the internship programme. The training sessions were very comprehensive and I felt as though it prepared me well enough to start with my internship.
Company Parties/Events
Travel loan
Good, to summarise. I enjoyed the projects I worked on and I've enjoyed working along with my colleagues.
The Culture
There was a bowling social organised for all the PwC socials on the last week of the internship, and also other socials organised internally within the intern groups of different lines of service within PwC.
