The Role
Loved it, there was a great working environment, everyone was supportive especially in helping me to see a wide range of business areas. The atmosphere was upbeat and positive most of the time, and the work I was doing was insighful and interesting.
Colleagues were very happy to delegate interesing work, I was invited to social events. I was encouraged to attend and contribute to team meetings and also wider-scale meetings. There was a clear focus on interns being the future of the company so we were valued and made to feel welcome.
There was a stong exisiting support network in place within the team and so I didn't ever feel out of my depth. The team was generally very supportive, useful at providing advice and help with work.
Varied from day-to-day, I was never overwhelmed with work but there were some days when I had a lot on and chose to stay late to get work done. There was never an expectation to stay very late and I did feel like at times I had taken on too much work. At other times I did not have nmuch on, however on asking to work with other teams or for more work within my own team people were always forthcoming.
I did not have any meetings with clients however this was understandable as I would not be able to answer questions that they had I don't think. However I did draft and edit internal presentations, documents, etc which were then circulated around the Line of Service. Beyond this I had responsibility for my own time management and working day
The technical side of the work will certianly help me gain a deeper understanding of my degree subject; despite choosing a specialised area I have still learned a lot which will help me in my degree. Beyond this the inter-personal, communication and teamwork experiece which I have gained will be of great use - there has been the opportunity to meet so many people and I have been proactive in seeking out the work I wanted to do. These skills will be really helpful in future life/career progression
The Company
In a word, diligent - people work very hard as this is a competive industry and one that's subject to a lot of legislation/regulation so you can't afford to slack. But that brings out the best in people in my opinion and so generally there were ver good relationships within the team. It did seem at times like we were a bit seperate as a team from the rest of the office but that's due to the specialist nature of what we do. Fridays are always much more laid back and fun but there is a positive attitude throughout the week :)
The induction was good however the training we had at the start was a bit general, although this was more than made up for by the opportunity to meet other interns and Partners from the firm also. Throughout the internship there was a good level of contact from the organiser, and also useful information about making the most of the internship and useful work skills.
High degree of investment I felt, lots of time was spent mentoring and we were given People Managers to talk about objectives and work-progress we were making throughout. I felt much more comfortable working in professional environment because of the experience, and there was support in the development of my skills

Very good - PwC is faring very well and arguably dominates the Big 4. So they are hiring the vast majority of interns they take on!
The Culture
London interns from the different offices met up pretty often, and the residential at the start of the internship meant that there was a chance to get to know interns from across the country in a relaxed environment. I'm sure I'l keep in touch with some of the other interns I've worked with! Colleagues were also keen to spend time and socialise with the interns
The only downside of the internship as Central London is as expensive as it gets for a pint after work. Cost of renting also generally high but you can find cheap places if you look around/ask people. Don't think the cost got in the way of socialising that much but it could certainly come as a shock
Didn't go out but it's London so I guess pretty sweet
Yes there was a lot going on, sports day, drinks, parties etc. Think my internship was a bit too short to get the full experience of activities out of work, but there are lots of networking events and training events going on also.
