The Role
I really enjoyed my internship, I was given a wide variety of work and was able to take part in a range of projects
I felt like the team invested in my experience a lot. I attended meeting with key targets, was asked to help compile reports to be sent out to clients. I was given a lot of responsibilty and felt like I was a full time employee not just an intern
A lot of support was given when I was working on more challenging tasks. I had to be proactive to get involved in a range of projects during my time at PwC but felt like everybody was very welcoming when I joined a new team. I had a people manager and buddy during my internship but they were both on holiday for a few weeks! Everybody in the office was friendly so and willing to offer support.
Some days were more busy than others, but I was always able to leave on time and didn't have to stay late. I was always able to ask around the office what I could help on to keep myself busy
A range of responsibilites were given to me from researching key targets in the region and specific information about certain companies, drafting exec summaries for clients, researching uk legislation and international rules to make a presentation for a client, using the software to complete computations and update records.
The skills I have developed will be really useful going into my final year at university and for starting a graduate job. I was given lots of feedback so I knew what my strengths had been and what I could work on during my remaining time.
The Company
It was a very welcoming office, everybody in the department knew eachother and worked on projects together. I also met people in another department through fellow interns and we went for lunch together and planned an interdepartment social. My department also organised a night out to celebrate the promotions in the office
We had a 3 day induction with all the interns from the UK which was great! We had tutorials on our service lines and team building activites between offices and lines of service. In the evenings we had a formal dinner with directors and partners, and another dinner were we met with other 西瓜视频s from the same university. When I got to the office there wasn't a programme set up for my time so the first days were spent doing online tutorials but I quickly got involved in a number of projects and just asked when I heard about something I thought would be interesting to be involved with
We had 3 days at the beginning spent training to prepare us for the work and another 2 days in the office doing an IT and office induction so we were ready to work. I was always able to ask about things I hadn't understood in my research and was involved in challenging projects so I felt like a valued member of the team
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
A high percentage of interns are offered jobs following the internship then after the grad scheme there are so many opportunities to travel and be involved in so many different projects
The Culture
there were only a couple of interns in the office but we often ate lunch together or with the current graduates in the office
Not too expensive
It's known to have a good nightlife but I didn't really take advantage of it!
Yes - I attended an external social event at a law firm and we had a few socials - meals, drinks, bowling.
