The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my internship, it exceeded my expectations in that respect!
Towards the end of my internship, once people saw the work I had been doing and I got involved with bigger pieces of work, I did feel valued.
An incredible level of support is given by my people manager who helps to set the objectives of my internship and also checks in every now and then to see how I'm doing. Each intern is also assigned a Buddy who helps you to settle in to the office and is always around to ask question; especially helpful since they are current graduates in your department so are great for advice.
There was the odd day where I didn't have much work to be getting on with; however, this is balanced with the awareness that there is little that an intern can actually do and it's more about understanding the different roles of the firm or getting an awareness of what you like to do.
As mentioned above, because of a very limited knowledge of the area and such a short space of time in which to work, it's hard to be given large amounts of responsibility. However, after coaching through things, I was eventually given the responsibility of completing things on my own.
The skills and training received will definitely help since I've decided this is the sort of area I want to go into after graduating; however, there isn't much applicable to my degree.
The Company
There was an incredible atmosphere in the office; everyone seems to work very hard during the day which means it can be quiet sometimes but you know that no one will mind if you have a question and people generally take an interest in how you're getting on.
The internship was incredibly well set up. All the interns across the country were together for the first week on a residential course that was fantastic. This was a mixture of team-building exercises with other interns who will be in your office as well as in your line of service (tax, assurance, consulting etc..). Everyone then split into their lines of service to learn more about their area. After this, everyone returned to their office and had an Office and IT induction there.
The firm invested a lot of time in all the interns, especially since we're only here for 6 weeks. There was always the opportunity to develop and the objectives require it.

Job offers have not been confirmed as of writing, but if feedback from colleagues is good, you've performed well and enjoyed it, there is a good chance that you could have a job offer waiting for when you've finished university!
The Culture
The social scene was very good. There are regular service across departments but we also met up quite a lot as a group of interns as well.
Leeds is relatively cheap compared to other cities, especially in the South.
As a 西瓜视频, Leeds nightlife is great, but there really is something for everyone in the city.
There was quite a lot of opportunities. Only reason the rating's not higher is because the length of the internship means that there weren't many while we were there.
