The Role
I very much enjoyed my internship at PwC. It gave me a fantastic inisght into the world of assurance, and life as an external auditor.
I was made to feel valued by my colleagues on all of my client engagements. Everyone was very grateful for the contributions that I was making, which really made me feel like I was adding value to the team, and was not just there to shadow them.
The support I received was massively overwhelming. The work was challenging, however I was constantly encoruaged to ask plenty of questions, which I did, but it never felt like you were becoming an annoyance, rather, you were told to keep asking!
There was probably only two occasions during my internship where I was stuggling to find some work to do. So yes, I was busy for the majority of the time.
I was amazed at just how much resposniblity I was given. You really are integrated into the teams and allocated pieces of work that must be completed in order for the team to be successful.
The main skills I developed included technical skills such as excel, audit procedures/testing, to soft skills such as communication, teamwork.
The Company
Welcoming. Everyone was happy to say hello, and it felt like you could ask anyone a question and they would be happy to help.
It was well organised. I never felt lost, or in a situaton where I felt I could have done with more information/guidance.
PwC invest a lot of time in their interns. This is obvious from the induction training right at the start. They make it clear that they are looking to give you a graduate job offer and ask you to view the internship as the start of your career, rather than purely six weeks of experience.

Very appealing. Would gladly accept a graduate job offer.
The Culture
Despite being the only intern at my office, right from my first week I was welcomed into the social scene at the office. This included end of month drinks, a football match against another office, a sports day event to name a few social events I got involved with.
Good. The end of month drinks event I attended involved free drinks, can't get much cheaper than that!
Good, plenty of pubs/bars near the office.
Yes, as mentioned above.
