    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my internship. It has given me a real insight into VAT tax at PwC. The internship exceeded expectations and has helped me decide what I would like to do after university.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The majority of people in the office made me feel welcome and helped me feel at ease throughout my first few weeks. I came at a fairly busy time for VAT so I understood that colleagues were very busy. I was invited on office socials etc.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given enough support and guidance for me to carry out daily tasks and felt that I could ask questions to a number of people if I didn't undertstand what I was asked to do.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was kept busy throughout my internship. I was given a variety of tasks from a variety of people which meant sometimes I was very busy. I sometimes work half an hour/ an hour overtime but out of choice.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a fair amount of responsibility. I was asked to draft emails, proposals, VAT forms etc. that were sent out to actual clients, however they were always checked before being sent out so there wasn't too much pressure.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I learnt will probably not be very useful to my degree as it is not related to the internship. It will however be very useful if I get offered a graduate job at PwC or get a job in another finance/business related firm.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere was usually fine. It was sometimes a bit quiet as various people were on holiday etc. People were also very busy which meant there was not always opportunities to have conversations with people.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was organised very well. The first three days were spent in Northampton where we got to know other interns and learnt about out various fields. We did team building activities and had a networking event with partners of the firm. We then had two days in the office having further inductions which entailed learning how to use the computers and having a tour of the office. Throughout our internship we had a buddy and a people manager and we could go them if we had any questions.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • PwC invested a lot in our training and developement. As mentioned we had a three day residential where we learn the basics of our chosen fields.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • Hopefully, I will have a graduate job offer from them by the end of the internship.
