The Role
The internship was very enjoyable overall, and I was allowed to see lots of different areas of the company.
I was accepted by the team very quickly and was often approached my several members of the team with offers of doing some work with them.
My Buddy during my placement was very helpful and would always organise things for me to do.
It would vary day-to-day, but sometimes it was difficult to find work to do.
Given a lot of responsibility right from the start, working on client work from the first few days.
The technical skills developed were very sepcific to the role I was working in (Data), so I am unsure how they will assist me in the future. However, the skills in working in a professional environment, working with a team and networking will help me as I move forward into my future career.
The Company
The atmoshpere was very friendly and everyone was very helpful, especially when I had questions.
There was plenty of things to get involved in, if you were pro-active about it, however in terms of having scheduled work to do the programme was a bit lacking compared to other lines of service within the company.
The company helped me to develop myself by giving me the opportunities to work with clients and having responsiblity of projects, both working in a team and being left to complete work on my own.

Personally I would not follow a career in the department in which I completed my internship, however there are other areas of the organisation that are of interest to me, and where I could see myself working in the future.
The Culture
All of the interns were very proactive in getting to know each other, and we organised socials with each other every week. Also, there were regular events to go to with the colleagues in my team, ranging from getting lunch to going bowling.
My placement was in Manchester, so it was not too expensive if you shopped and stayed in the right places. The public transport was very affordable.
Lots of varied things to do, with a bar/club for everyone. Different areas of the city catered for different scenes.
There was lots of gigs/concerts on in Manchesterm which was great for me as I love seeing live music.
