The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. The people I worked with were all really friends and easy to speak to and were really open to answering any questions about life at PwC and about their experiences. I worked on a variety of different clients throughot the 6 weeks which allowed me to see how not every client is the same.
I feel like my colleagues appreciated the work I was doing for the team and I was treated like another member of the team.
Everyone senior to me coached me through all my tasks and my people manager was really helpful when I had any issues.
The first week was an induction and training week which as very full on and you were constantly busy with different team building tasks and tutor group sessions. The next 2 weeks weeks I wasn't too busy and had a lot of time to do extra work on projects running alongside the work I am doing which was interesting. Then the past few weeks I have been very busy working at th client. So overall it was really varied how busy I was.
I think I was given a good level of responsibility.
Im not too sure how the skills I have learnt will help directly with my degree however the skills I have learnt in the past 6 weeks should help me when I hopefully secure a graduate scheme with PwC.
The Company
The office was really sociable and friendly. There was end of month drinks which we were invited too and also the other employees would invite us out for lunch.
The overall structure of the programme was well organised however, personally, I experienced a lot of time where I was sitting around waiting for work to be given to me which couldn't be helped but we could have been given something to do during that time.
The first week of my 6 week placement was all about training us to be able to do a good job over the next 5 weeks. We were then constantly coached throughout the duration of the internship.
It is appealing but no more appealing than any other large professional services firm.
The Culture
The first week allowed us to make friends with the other interns and this friendship was then maintained througout the internship through the companys internal messaging application however there wasn't any social events for interns specifically.
I lived at home but the St Albans area isnt too expensive.
didn't go out in the area but there are a few bars.
No. There were 2 events but the first one was on our 2nd day in the office and the second one was on our last day.
