About You
The insight day was well-planned and thought through, with a wide variety of sessions and plenty of employees to talk with.
There were many employees around, who were all very happy to talk with us and to answer any questions. I felt that they were prepared to invest time and resources in us.
The sessions helped us to gain the skills needed to be successful in an interview, as well as gain a better idea of what I wanted from my career.
Although not directly related to my studies, the activities allowed me to improve other transferable skills, including communication and teamwork. The networking opportunities were also invaluable.
The Company
The plans for the day were made clear to us and timings were kept to. Although there was a lot of content, there were also well-placed breaks.
Other participants and employees were friendly and enthusiastic, though there was a decrease in enthusiasm as the day went on.
The debate and commercial awareness sessions were particularly of interest to me, as they helped me to learn more about what employees are looking for and to learn ideas from other participants.
There were so many opportunities to talk to a range of employees, from partners to graduates. I feel that I now have a good understanding of what it is like to work at PwC, and how my experiences could change I progress.
The presentation gave us a better idea of the company culture and speaking with employees was also important; it allowed me to consider whether I would fit in with their culture and be suited to it.
I felt that insight days at other Big Four companies did a much better job of explaining the service lines, as there was only a short presentation regarding them. Nevertheless, it still gave me a better idea of whether I would want to work at PwC.
Everything Else
I filled out a form to be reimbursed with travel expenses.
There was a dinner and employees gave their time to come and speak to us during lunch breaks.
The dinner was a great opportunity, as employees ate with us in a relaxed setting, openly answering our questions but also just having conversations.
Employees told us about charity work that they are encouraged to do and social activities that are organised.
This was a great opportunity to find out more about a leading company in the industry.
