The Role
The internship gave me a chance to work on real client issues. After having a useful residential induction, I was placed on a project straight away. One of the associates was responsible for bringing me up to speed with what has been going on since the start of the project and he was really helpful in answering all of my questions, The rest of the team was really nice as well and I could feel like part of the team from day 1.
The project gave me a chance to work alongside more senior members of the firm and they were really appreciative of my work. The project manager would always thank me warmheathedly after every task (no matter how minor it was). I was also involved in many team socials, which made it easy to get to know the team and become friends with them.
Many people provided their support during my internship. I was in contact with my Buddy even before the start of the internship, which was a useful way to get to know the firm before I started. I was also allocated to a People Manager who was really nice and supportive. My managers would also answer all of my questions and take their time to explain things to me.
Most of the days I would work from 9am to 6pm and some of the days would be really busy, but some of them would be much more relaxed. It all depends on the nature of the project and when the different deadlines for the deliverables are.
I was given responsibility for some major parts of the project, but was never really allowed to work on my own. The associate had to monitor my work closely to make sure I did not make any mistakes.
The skills I developed would definitely assist me in my future studies and career. Even getting used to working in an office, scheduling meetings and replying to e-mails quickly are invaluable skills for 西瓜视频s who do not have much prior experience in working in an office evry day. I also improved my technical skills by enhancing my Excel skills alongside getting to know how to work with Oracle systems as well. I also learned to ask for feedback regularly and focus on personal development. PwC offers so many different resources that allow you to enhance your skills in all areas you can think of.
The Company
My colleagues were always really nice to me and we would always have lunch together. However, some of them were always too serious and it was hard at times to relax.
The internship was organised really well. The training was useful, then no time was wasted waiting to be placed in a project. Then, the project team was expecting me and had many the necessary arrangements to welcome me to the team.
PwC really invests heavily in developing the skills of their employees, which makes so many of the interns accept their grad offers.

I would love to join the firm as a graduate!
The Culture
Yes, we would go for drinks with the other interns every Friday (and often have breakfast/lunch together as well). Fridays are always really fun because most people are based on client sites the rest of the week, but come back to the office on Fridays.
London is a really expensive city in every aspect (transport, accommodation, eating out, etc)
Nightlife is amazing in London, but a bit expensive.
The opportunities are there, but most people are too busy with their projects (or just prefer to spend their free time with other friends and not their colleagues).
