The Role
I have definitely enjoyed my internship, and the social side of it as well as the work. At PwC everybody is willing to help you and to get involved with things, so it is important to go in with an open-mind.
I felt valued all the time as I was constantly working with different people and getiing involved with different tasks.
Management and colleagues were always happy to help and guide you through any processes I was unsure on.
I was busy all the time, sometimes in the day it would get a bit repetitive, however mostly I was given reponsibility on a variety of tasks which involved the basics of accounting practices.
I was definitely given responsibility, however not on a large scale due to the fact you have to be qualified to do more complex stuff. However, I do feel I was given tasks that were of some responsibility and had to be checked thoroughly by management.
The skills learnt in the workplace will definitely aid a future career in the industry, and the training induction was very helpful in order to get used to the PwC way of doing things. It should aid me to link stuff back into theory when going back to university.
The Company
There was plenty of socials and sporting activities to get involved in, 5 a-side football, cricket and sports day!
Everything was timetabled and very well organised and easy to follow and get in touch with people.
The firm invested a lot of time into the internship and training,
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
They have a very good reputation and to be a future employee appeals to me.
The Culture
Yes! Lots of opportunities to get involved with projects, sports and many other things. Office socials are a great way to network and get to know more senior members of staff.
I lived at home, so this was fine.
Liverpool has a great nightlife, and Manchester isn't too far away also if you need a change.
I got involved with cricket, football and the work related socials/activities. All which were well organised and good fun!
