    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Excellent structure, and there was ample opportunities to learn about the culture of the firm, as well as in depth on the line of service one had chosen. Extremely enjoyable, everyone was welcoming and tried their bet to educate us on the different divisions within the firm.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • We were provided with meals and accommodation for the night, and we had scope to mould our experience through choosing two elective modules such ad technology, sustainability and diversity events such as being more open minded. On top of this the dinner with partners meant hours to discuss anything pwc related

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • At each session we had a member of staff to help us with any queries. This included the debate sessions, but to a lesser extent. In terms of a schedule, everything was adhered to with times, it was very well paced .

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • With regards to degree, the debate was good for learning how to develop arguments in cohesion with others, communication skills and general research in a pressured time environment. For beyond that, general commercial awareness and understanding the competency values of an organisation is important to learn.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • We were given a schedule of everything at the beginning and the times were held to very well, meaning a lot was packed into just two working days worth of time. When one session ended the next one began immediately, and since everything was on one floor it was fairly quick knowing where to go. A variety of experiences was also good, through the electives, and then service line talks, and then a talk on competencies.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Excellent, pwc really does have a unique culture and its clear to see why they invest so much time into it. Really jovial, and even though the work was intense at times, the general atmosphere and guidance from pwc meant that it ended up being a lot more enjoyable, and that's something pec is quite unique in.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Was only two days so cant say too much development, but in the time given we were taught as much as possible on our potential career within the firm, opportunities that would be open once we joined such as charity work. Future development was clear however, with explanations from your service line as to how the graduate programme was structured, the type of work done etc.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Really in depth understanding on your own service line of choice, and as said above it was clear that the graduate programmes are structured to provide variety, and by speaking to.employees already there and learning from their own experiences, it was easy enough to gain a good picture of the work done.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • On top of the vast number of employees to talk to which meant learning different insights and perspectives, we spent an hour leaning the competency framework of pwc, why they made them and how the affect the ethos of the firm.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Very much so, the work in my division choice sounds challenging and there is a high level of responsibility from the get go which was appealing form this sort of career path i had envisioned before the talent academy.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Expenses up to 100 pounds

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, we had plenty, as below.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Throughout both days at lunch and dinner we had the chance to talk with associates, partners and directors at every level, that was abundant. Some were structured in a formal location. Such as the pre dinner drinks outside, which meant a really casual and relaxed backdrop after a day of work.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • In the intro talk the partner explained about the charity initiaves such as six full paid days of charity work employees can do, which is really important for me personally.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Most definitely, if you want to learn as much as possible about the company and have a vague idea of the type of work you would like to do, then taken advantage of the opportunity.
