About You
Overall, the insight was a great opportunity to network and gain a deeper understanding of the different business areas. An opportunity to work-shadow (even for 30 minutes) would be highly valuable, as it would enable us to gain a first-hand experience.
Throughout the entire process, I felt very valued and all queries were answered in a professional manner.
There was a certain deal of support provided during the insight programme and a lot of guidance via networking occasions. However, group specific feedback in the debates, would have been desirable in assisting for future analogous events.
There were several skills that was developed through the programme, such as, communications and rapport building skills. These skills are imminent to be very useful in the future.
The Company
The entire programme was highly structured and organised with a clear timetable of events.
Every candidate and PwC team member was extremely polite and friendly. This made the atmosphere sociable and pleasant.
There was a line of service specific session, which I felt was helpful for personal training. However, a chance to work-shadow an employee in the preferred line of service would have been fantastic.
The insight was somewhat helpful in understanding the job duties in a full time role via networking with employees.
Receiving presentations from seniors and networking with them, was very helpful in understanding the company鈥檚 culture.
I applied to the Tax division as only this was available at the time. However, the opportunity to join the Actuarial session was not permitted due to limited spaces. Also, there was a lack of Actuarial employees at the networking event. As I wish to become an Actuary, there was not a large level of guidance for this area.
Everything Else
Fast and straight-forward reimbursement policy.
There were several opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the firm. However, I could not find any Actuarial employees at the networking event.
The networking events were very informal and this enabled a more flowing conversation.
Communicating with the employees, assisted in understanding the hobbies and involvement outside of work.
I would definitely recommend the insight to a friend and is very valuable to mention on a CV.
