The Role
The internship has been very enjoyable! The social aspect of the office has been brilliant.
Throughout my time here, I was never left feeling like a spare part! I was always included in meetings with clients, and always felt really valued by the team I was working with. I was never left with nothing to do.
Whenever I had any questions - small or large, silly or important - my supervisors, or anyone else I was working with, were always really happy to help out.
Each day I have a variety of tasks to complete, which I was generally given at the start of each day. Therefore, I was never left with nothing to do! Although I was kepy busy, it was always a managable amount.
I was given a good amount of responsibility. I was given small tasks to complete within a certain timescale, but I never felt like I had tasks which had too much responsilibty. This was great as I could learn easily, without being under too much pressure.
I have no doubt that the skills I have learned will help me with my final year at uni!
The Company
The office is amazing! It is really open-plan and friendly. Although you can tell that everyone is hard at work, there is still a happy and chatty atmosphere. On my first day in the office when I was given a tour of the building, I was delighted with the amount of people who came over just to say hello! It only made me even more delighted to start work properly!! Friday night office drinks are also a great way to meet more people in a fun and casual environment!
The first week was really well organised. All of the interns from the UK went to a hotel outside Birmingham for 3 days training, then everyone went to their own offices for the final 2 days. Both parts of this week were excellent. Every part of the day was planned well in order for us to get the most out of it! The rest of the internship has also been arranged well.
At the very start, each intern will set some objectives, outlining what you expect to achieve, personally and technically, thoughout your time at the firm! By doing this, your managers can see what you want out of it, and from my experience, are really open to allowing you to do this! This determines what kind of tasks you are given.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
By doing an internship with such a credible firm such as PwC, you are one step of the way to obtaining a graduate role within the company for when you graduate. If you do well during the six weeks, you have a good chance of this!
The Culture
Every last friday of the month, there are office drinks which are good fun, and a good way to get chatting to people who you arent with all day! The office also puts all audit staff members into social groups, with which you do social activities after work.
Edinburgh can be quite expensive, however, there are alot of 西瓜视频 bars in town which are relatively cheap. I know a few people who rent flats in the city, and some of them have really good deals!!
Edinbirgh has a really good night life, expecailly in the summer because of the two/three week festival which happens every year - The Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
There are a lots of sports groups, such as touch rugby and football.
