    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Very enjoyable with many opportunities, lots of people to meet and different things to get involved in. I really enjoyed the variety of projects I got to experience. I was also lucky enough to get client exposure which was very enjoyable and showed me the value of having face to face meetings with clients. I also enjoyed the depth of work I was trusted with which meant I felt I was being very valuable to the team.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Had many different supporting people including People Manager and Buddy. There was also the office network and the other interns, we all supported each other.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Generally I was pretty busy each day, but this varies depending on the projects you are put on and the type of work you are able to carry out. My first project was largely based around note taking in workshops, so could be quiet at time, but my second project was busy and meant there was always jobs to be done. Sometime I had to work in the evenings to get jobs done, but this is just part of life in consulting.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

  • I have developed lifelong useful skills including Excel, Stata and reporting skills and powerpoint skills.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere is quite work-aholic with everyone focussing on the work at hand. But there is sometimes a more lively atmosphere and I always found people to talk to.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was well set up to begin with with a fun whole intern event in northmapton where we could meet lots of people and get involved in activities. Would have been better to have more dinners and whole intern events.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The people within the team invested a lot of time to help me understand and get to grips with the software. This was less so form the actual company.

    3/5

  • Thought there could have been more opportunity to get involved with charity events or sporting events from pwc. Thought outside work completely it is london so opportunities there.
