The Role
very good indeed
welcoming and friendly
full support offered to me on a daily basis.
kept busy doing my own work, in meetings, out on site or other.
lots of responsibility whilst still reporting to management.
loads of power systems knowledge gained, goes hand in hand with what we are learning at university.
The Company
very nice offices, people like to chat and socialise over a coffee whilst getting the job done.
very well set up however there were some IT issues that have become quite common for National Grid placements
You can do any training you want if it falls into the placement timings, everyone is keen for you to improve yourself.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Healthcare/Dental
More jobs seem to be opening up in the engineering side of things
The Culture
Good social scene. We would all meet and go for lunch every day as a big group. Everyone tends to live close together (if not together) so everyone gets to know each other quickly. At the weekends there will always be a party and people go out... the graduates often have 西瓜视频s over to theirs for a BBQ and pre drinks before hitting Altoria.
The housing can be cheap if you know where to look. It can be hard to find somewhere for such a short peroid of time. I paid $280 all in per month for a house at the bottom of the parade. If you are looking to buy in the area, i believe the prices are quite high due to Leamingtons close proximity to London.
Leamington town is quite good whilst the 西瓜视频s from Warwick are still about. There are several clubs, some good bars and plenty coffee shops to get a good flat white in. In addition, there are a couple of good sports centres that have saunas, pools etc.. a good place to cure a hangover,
Didn't hear about any but I'm sure there are some. I think there is 5 a side football and NewNet helps new people get involved.
