The Role
It was well worth doing, i got the opurtunity to work on a very interesting and inovative project
I worked as part of a small team so i felt very valued as i had to work with them very closely.
Due to the teams workload i often found it difficult to have good 1-1 sessions
I was fairly busy most days due to the fast pace of the project i worked on but there was the odd lull in work.
I had a great deal of responsability as work i carried out was presented to National Grid stakeholders and Major Development Projects
I did not receive a great deal of training apart from a 2 day course early on, and my placement was nearly all outside my area of study but enabled me to build on general engineering skills and working skills.
The Company
the office was quite busy most days although there was the odd one when it seemed fairly empty. the atmopshere was good and there was a nice balence so you couldnt get too stressed or relaxed
It was set up okay but there was a genreal lack of contact from HR
I had a 2 day training course to develop presentation skills etc. Other than that not a great deal.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Working from home
Healthcare from home
They are okay however National Grid are not offering sponsorship to placement 西瓜视频s which has dented any chances quite a bit in my eyes.
The Culture
My fellow placement 西瓜视频s formed a good social network
Housing seemed to be expensive for what you got, basically have to live in south leamington which is not the "nicest" area i have ever lived in. Pubs are average price.
Most places in leamington spa are a bit of a dive and Warwick is quite expensive
There are quite a few things to do in the area like driving ranges, cinema and crazy golf
