The Role
As it is the only full time job I have had, I have no comparison. It was a good year out and I gained alot from my experience, I think the team I was part of made it an enjoyable time.
From the start I was made welcome and part of the team. We always have a good laugh!
I have been given good support from my manager when needed however you have to book time with them as they are really busy.
Sometimes I was really busy but it was managable and I personally prefered to be busy and get the most out of my experience. There were occasions where I would start to run out of things however I always let my colleagues know to give me more work, or it would be a good opportunity to gather some evidence for my university module.
After I became familiar with surroundings and work I would become involved with, I was soon given responsibility which was a scary but good feeling to know my work would be valued from the beginning.
I believe no matter what placement you complete, the skills you gain will set you up for the rest of your career. I was able to develop my skills in particular I was given the opportunity to work on my weaker skills.
The Company
After the first month we moved to a Smart workspace, so the atmosphere is good in finance. Our wider team have good laughs/banter when appropriate.
I was given objectives from the first day I started and therefore had specific goals to work towards at different times in the year.
I completed a 2 day training course on Presentation, Communication and Listening skills. I also went on a day workshop to understand Customers better and how to act when dealing with different people.

The amount of graduate positions have not been defined yet. The graduate scheme is appealing however the accounting qualification prefered is CIMA but they will consider ACCA. The location changes and over the 3 years you have to do 1 year in London.
The Culture
Yes, all the placement 西瓜视频s lived with other placement 西瓜视频s and we all meet up and go for lunch, go on nights out etc.
Cost of living is reasonable and a night out is reasonably priced. As you would expect anywhere really.
There are a number of bars and clubs in Leamington where most people live.
When you are a new starter you can join Newnet which is ran by graduates and placement 西瓜视频s, where you can get involved with a range of activities including talks, community events, social events.
