The Role
I really enjoyed enjoyed it. My colleagues at National Grid were very welcoming and hlepful and the skills I learnt will definitely enhance my employment opportunities after graduating.
Felt very valued by all colleagues very quicky, including staff and management level. Feel's like I have been here a lot longer than 12 months (in a good way!)
I was given very good support and guidance in my line manager and above. This support included my day job at National Grid, and also with my University assignment I had to complete.
Was a good balance. My line manager was always understanding if my work load was too high, and also too low.
Again, a good balance on responsiblity was given during my placement. Some projects I was coordinating and leading, others I was working as a team.
The skills i have learnt and developed over my placement year will definitely assist me with my final year at university and beyond. The experiences i have learnt will help with with my assessment centres after graduating, and also the support and guidance i have been given will also help.
The Company
Atmosphere in the office was good. People were very welcoming and conversations were light hearted whilst also keeping it professional.
Was very well set up, there was always opportunities to challenge myself and improve on any weaknesses I felt needed to be worked on.
Personally the training and development was good, but i feel it was down to my line manager. There was a 2 day course at the beginning of the placement, but there could have been more personal training at development.

I feel confident that I have a good chance to get onto the graduate scheme with National Grid. I still have to go through the application and assessment centre process, but i feel the skills i have developed over the year have definitely given me a good chance to progress onto the graduate scheme.
The Culture
There are a good number of placement 西瓜视频s within different departments, and National Grid introduced us all at the beginning.
Average, not any different to university or home.
Average. The nightlife in Leamington is ok, and Coventry/Birmingham are short taxi or train journeys away.
National Grid has a lot of volunteer work and social clubs outside of work.
