The Role
I really enjoyed working at PwC this summer and think it was an invaluable experience.
To evaluate our performance during the internship we requested feedback from those who we worked with, this helped me to feel valued and also to gain insight into the areas in which I could develop in the future.
I was lucky to have a very good mentor for the majority of my time with PwC, they were very willing to help and provide experiences that could help me to develop my objectives.
Some days were very busy, others were quiet but I think this is fairly typical of Management Consultancy work
I was given the responsibility to go and meet a client on my own on a couple of occasions- scary but a good experience.
The training consisted of mainly 'on the job' development and some online training which was useful. I think that there is much more thorough training at the beginning of the graduate scheme.
The Company
Really great atmosphere and lovely people throughout the firm
I was lucky to be put on a project straight away for the duration of my internship.
I feel the firm invested a lot in the time I spent with them as they were willing to pay for my expenses to work away from my base office on a daily basis. Everyone in the firm was also very willing to give up their time, even when busy, to have a chat about their role which provided great insight.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Offered a job in one office but am awaiting an interview to allow me to move offices prior to starting.
The Culture
Good social scene in both the Bham and London Offices in which I worked
Expensive in London but that was expected!
Had three nights out during the placement
A couple of social events were organised but the firm during the 8 weeks I was there.
