Overview
As part of the vacation scheme, I attend insightful presentations and complete assessed tasks that broaden my understanding of the firm鈥檚 work. I am seated with an associate (my principal), who assigns me a range of tasks and offers useful insight into day-to-day legal practice. I also participate in team and client meetings and have coffee chats with other lawyers, which provide further opportunities to learn about the firm鈥檚 culture and practice areas.
Skills
During the scheme, I have learned how to deliver a client pitch. I have also developed skills in legal research, drafting, contract review, and commercial awareness.
Business Insight
The firm used engaging presentations to explain its global strategy and business model, and was very clear about the qualities it seeks in trainees. Overall, the experience was highly insightful.
Culture
The atmosphere at the firm is positive and encouraging. Lawyers at all levels are approachable, supportive, and willing to share their experiences.
