The Role
I found the internship really enjoyable. The work was interesting and the team I worked with were great. Everyone was so friendly and easily approachable. It made everything much more enjoyable. Being able to shadow senior members of the team was great as well. It was really good to see their interaction with clients and the work that they do.
I felt that the work I did actively made a difference. I was often given various tasks throughout the day, each of which I felt was appreciated. I felt that team members relied on me, which was a great feeling having only been in the firm a few weeks. I felt that my work was appreciated and my time was put to good use.
When you join you are appointed a 鈥淧eople Manager鈥. Their role is to offer support and guidance and act as a senior point of contact during your internship. My People Manager was great. He was very friendly and approachable and was able to answer any questions that I had. Meeting with him various times throughout the internship was a useful opportunity to gain guidance and ensure I was performing on the right tracks.
I was never too busy or felt that I was sitting on my hands. This was partly down to me managing my time well. I managed my workload and this ensured a constant stream of work. During down time I still had tasks to keep me busy. I never felt that I was out of my comfort zone in terms of the work load but equally I didn鈥檛 feel bored.
I feel I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility. I feel the tasks I did were important and made a difference without me being given too much responsibility that I felt overworked. I felt I had the support network around me if I had any questions about particular tasks. This meant that even with challenging tasks, I never felt that I was out of my depth.
The skills I developed have been fantastic. I feel that my confidence had grown and I am much more prepared for working life after university. Some of my stronger qualities I feel have also improved, as well as development points I have been aware of. These skills will be very useful going back to University and are skills that I will carry forward with me into my future career.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and made it really easy for me to settle in. After just a few weeks it felt as though I had been in the firm for years! I made some great friends and the atmosphere of the team and the office made the internship even better.
The internship was very organised. It began with a 3 day residential induction which was organised very well. The induction in the office was equally well organised. It made the process of settling in much easier. Equally well organised was the buddy and people manager schemes. These meant that I always had a point of contact should I have any queries or problems.
The training was excellent. The 3 day induction was very thorough and a great introduction to the firm. The training in the office was very good as well. It meant that I understood and settled in to the company much quicker. The training formed a big part of the internship and was something that I really enjoyed.

I really enjoyed the internship. At the end of my 6 weeks I found out that I have an offer to come back next year to join on the graduate scheme. This is fantastic to have going back to my final year at University and certainly alleviates a lot of stress!
