The Role
The internship was very enjoyable and overall seemed very organised.
Colleagues were friendly and treated me like a member of the team. Although I was an intern, they ensured that I was coached so that I could do my assignments effectively.
I was assigned a people manager, with whom I had weekly meetings with. This was of great support and he provided advice that helped me to achieve during the internship.
I was busy most of the time, although there were periods when I had nothing to do. However, if I am proactive, there is always someone with work for me.
I was given a lot of responsibility, including work that normally a first-year graduate would do. I even had the opportunity to speak to the client on a one-to-one basis and walkthrough processes together.
My business skills developed tremendously, and I learnt a lot about PwC's audit process and the programmes that they use. I learnt most of the skills on the job rather than through the induction.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was generally very friendly and people were very open. However, the office is quite small (100 people-ish) and so during the summer as people are on holiday/on client site, the office can be very quiet!
It has been organised very well, with few IT/admin issues. managers/in-charge were all very organised too.
Apart from the training on the job, there was a three-day induction at the start of the internship. Otherwise, there wasn't a lot of training and development.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Very appealling - I already got a provisional offer with the firm.
The Culture
The other interns were very friendly and were of great help in helping me adjust to the office and to enquire about any issues I may have.
It was generally cheap.
Not much.
There were some opportunities like football but I didn't really get involved with them.
