    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • 4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • From the start I was seen as a valued member of the team and give responsibilities like any other employer. This was demonstrated in the work I was given, before starting any piece I would have a discussion to see the importance of it in regards to the business process.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • There was a wide range of support available at all times. When joining I was assigned a buddy and a people manager to help with any queries or concerns with my role or the work place in general. Further with each team I worked in everyone was friendly, approachable and happy to help with any questions and never thought any question was silly.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • From the start of my six weeks I felt as though I was not given enough work on a daily basis. As a quick worker who likes to be kept busy I found this difficult but used it as an opportunity to find work from other sources and see a wider range of types of work that the company do.

    1/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • 4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have developed during my six week internship will be really useful when I return to my studies at University. In particular the interactive visualization of data tools I was using will be very helpful for when I present my final year project which will involve lots of data collection.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere in the office is extremely friendly and energetic but also hard working. Employees are always happy to stop and explain something making it a very approachable environment to be in. There are 'brake out areas' with tables and screens which are great for quick catch ups on work in a more relaxed setting than at the desk.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was well organised in the sense of day by day. The training at the start was helpful technically and a great way to learn more about the firm and network. Moving to the main offices was seemless and the support network of buddies and people managers made it easy to ask for help. The only disorganised part was the frequent periods of reduced work load.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • In terms of personal training and development the company had a week of technical training at the start of the internship including lessons and computational skills which was aided by on going support from employees when we moved to the main offices on any specific software used. Further training was offered throughout my time and many employees took days out to do more relevant training.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I will hear later on this week in my exit interview whether I will receive an offer to return as part of the graduate scheme in my current line of service and office. This would be really appealing as it would relieve the pressure of applying to graduate schemes during my final year of study.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • Due to the training residential at the start of the six week internship many of the interns became good friends, as a result this started a trend of Friday evening socials. Further some of us grouped together and played squash and badmington some evenings with some of the AS2s in the office.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • 2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • As someone who has grown up in London I love exploring new places, with the great location of the London Embankment office I used this as a new opportunity to try out surrounding areas for new restaurants and nightlife. The good working hours at this company made this achievable and I gave me a good work life balance.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • 4/5
