The Role
It was a great internship, I am very happy that I embarked on it. I got to work on many projects, and everyone in the office around me was supportive of me finding the role I would be most comfortable in.
As an intern, I was highly valued by my colleagues, who were both at junior and senior level. I felt that I added value to whichever team I worked with.
Whenever I was assigned something I haven't done before I got extensive coaching, and I could consult my in charge whenever I encountered an obstacle.
I always had a task assigned to me, but when we were not on a tight deadline, I could take time to get to know new people, and to learn about other areas of the business.

The Company
The atmosphere of the office is great. Despite the high pressure nature of the job, everyone seems to have a good time.
The internship was well organised, we got a lot of help whenever we had any obligations outside the office. Deadlines and agreed times were kept promptly.
The company invests heavily in our development, the coaching from senior colleagues is valuable, and there are also other methods for development, such as online e-learns.

The Culture
The social scene amongst interns was great, everyone got on well, and were supportive of each other. We often had lunch together or socialised after work.
Edinburgh is not as expensive as London, and at the office we are walking distance from the best places in town. Accommodation was more expensive due to the Fringe festival taking place while we interned.
We did not go out much at night, but we did attend a couple of Fringe events during our internships. We also went for drinks after work a few times, and the nightlife seemed to be very good in town.
We received many emails about the activities outside work that we could have participated in, but I think during our 6 weeks we focused on getting as much work experience as possible.
