The Role
The PwC community makes you feel extremely welcome from the start, everyone is happy to give you a hand. I feel as though the work could of been more testing but that does come with a junior position
I definitely felt valued by colleagues. All work I was given contributed directly into the main job being worked on, and often feedback would be a large thanks for helping to contribute.
The support system was great, from the start you are given a buddy and people manager to help guide you through the process. Generally anyone else in the office is also happy to give advice/answer a question
Business fluctuated, but for the majority of the internship I was assigned a team to work with
I was definitely given work that was contributing to projects and often left to get on with it without someone looking over a shoulder all the time. This put a couple of different aspects of responsiblity on me
The communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team in a new environment will be invaluable for future jobs and potentially any group work in my degree. Lots of the skills using the software used are quite niche to the company but I imagine would be similar to technology used by other companies
The Company
Everyone's willing to talk with you, whatever their level. Pretty social atmosphere
Had work to do at most times and communication was good as to what work we were meant to be doing
The starting training few days was a good start to al have a similar level of training. They clearly invest time into you with the thoughts that you are a potential future employee.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
National Travel
The Culture
Interns met up regularly. Less so with the teams but that's slightly to be expected as we were on different jobs every week
