The Role
Over the 6 weeks I had worked at PwC I was able to meet a variety of different people across various Lines of Services. Working in Audit I was able to gain an insight to the Audit process and was also able to gain a lot of exposure to clients
The people at PwC made me feel welcome from day 1. Whilst working on clients those senior to me had taken time out of their own tasks to explain the tasks I was set and they encouraged and were happy for me to ask questions. Also various Partners and Directors had taken time out to share their experiences with us.
Your colleagues understand that as an intern you may have had limited experience previously. What I had found very helpful was the fact that my seniors encouraged me to ask questions and were also very happy answering them. This had helped me to feel more confident particularly when working on client site.
Depending on the clients and jobs you had worked, it varied in terms of how busy I was over the 6 weeks. If I had been on client site, most of time would be spent interacting and communicating with the client. This meant that I had been busy throughout the day. Working in the office I had spent a lot of time with my team members working on clients offsite. Also this had allowed me to build relationships throughout different lines of services.
When working on client site I had been given a lot of responsibility in terms of communicating with the client and obtaining the information that we had required. Although challenging, I believe that working on tasks like these were the highlights of my internship.
The Company
Within the office you would be sat with your allocated social group, however for the majority of the time you would be sat with those that you were working with. This had allowed me to meet and also work with different people. The great thing about working in the office was that everyone was down to earth and always willing to help.
For the first 3 days we had taken part in a residential, where we took part in team building activities and also specific training related to or line if services. Also there were a variety of different networking events that had been organised throughout the 6 weeks. During the rest of the internship we would be allocated to jobs which could have been on or off client site, and getting an experience of both had helped me to learn a lot over the course of the 6 weeks.

The other interns and I had met up for lunches and also had attended PwC social which made the social aspect of the internship great! PwC made an effort to help all of us fit in and having organised a social with all of the other interns, this was a great way for all of us to build strong working relationships.
Having lived with family it had been cheap for me to live in Birmingham. In terms of socialising there are various places near the office in which you can go to with work colleagues.
It was great to be able to go out with fellow interns after work on Fridays. There are many places near the office in which you can go to.
