    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I felt I learnt a lot and it was a valuable experience.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues consistent told me the value I was adding to their projects, and that they were very appreciative that I was on their team.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had an extremely helpful mentor who guided me through tasks initially and then provided me with help when I needed it later on. I found managers were also very available for help and to answer any questions when you needed it.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Occasionally felt I didn't have much to do, but then I could either fill my time doing an e-learn or I would actively seek more tasks to do, either on my existing projects, or helping out someone else. It was easy to do this.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The level of responsibility given to me felt perfect for an intern. I was doing the exact same work as my mentor who is senior to me, and the work I did was used in deliverables for clients with very little, if any, adjustments. I didn't have to participate in external meetings, but I would participate in internal meetings, and I helped to put together slide decks for presentations.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learnt valuable life skills, especially communication, but also professionalism, and I have also learnt how to carry out tasks in a meticulous way, and that documentation is very important in business.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I didn't get to be involved in many socials, but the general atmosphere in the office was welcoming and friendly, and people seem to make good friends there. No one was too important to talk to anyone, it's very open, and occasionally there would be food and drinks out in the office area for socialising.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • As I'm on a fairly new internship within technology, many people (including my people manager) didn't seem to know what it was. This meant that a few parts of the internship didn't seem very tailored to 'Digital Trust' but I was told of plans to further clarify the structure with the Technology department and it seems very important to PwC. I think sometimes there were conflicting communications about what we're expected to do, e.g. the last day, and I never got added to the correct social group so I missed out on some socials, but other than that, it was well organised.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We spent 3 days in training offsite initially, and a further day in IT training offsite later on. I think they invest a lot in their interns.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I have been offered a graduate job and I would be very happy to work for PwC on a permanent basis. They made me feel very valued and welcomed, and I would like to be a part of the great work culture and community.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • Occasional after work drinks, didn't really see that much of other interns as many were in the other office.

    2/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It's central London so obviously very expensive. Cool location though!

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Again, it's central London so of course the nightlife is good. We were next to Tower Bridge where there was a summer festival happening so there were often events happening.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were sports days and cultural events.

    3/5
