    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my internship at PwC. I found it very interesting and the people were really friendly and helpful. I found the work i had to do varied and interesting. It seems like an extremely good company to work for and I am very much looking forward to coming back to start my graduate role here.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • On my second engagement the team I was working with took the time to go through what I had to do step with me. This allowed me to fully understand what was expected of me and meant I was able to replicate my work across the file without having to ask for further guidance which allowed me to feel like a valued team member as opposed to a liability.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Everyone I met at PwC could not have been more friendly or helpful. They were all extremely lovely and willing to answer as many questions as you wanted no matter how silly the question seemed. They were all extremely supportive and I could not have asked for a better team to guide me through my internship.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • On some days I was extremely busy and on others I had literally nothing to do. I found the Lenovo engagament a struggle because everyone was so busy they did not have the time to sit down and talk you through anything or really give you any proper tasks to do. I found BPI much better as I was given various FSLIs to take charge of myself which kept me really busy which i enjoyed.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As mentioned above, at BPI I was given five FSLIs to complete myself which I really enjoyed. I found the work challenging at points but enjoyed being able to take ownership for the work i had been given and see a task from start to finish, as opposed to just being able to do parts of it.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The thing I enjoyed most about this internship was being able to put the knowledge I have learned at university in to practise in a real life situation. I feel like during my time here I have been able to see the practical side of what I have learned at uni which has allowed me to understand it better, and give me a greater understanding of companies as a whole.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I was not in the main office at all really apart from during my induction and admin day at the end however on both these occasions the atmosphere was pleasant and fun. When I was out on site at BPI the atmosphere was good fun and encouraging which I found made it a really enjoyable place to work.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I feel like this whole experience has been really well set up. PwC seem to have really taken the time to ensure that we get as close an experience to we would if we had the grad job and provided lots of opportunities for us to make the most of our experience here.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invested a lot in my experience. I was provided with lots of unusual experiences, such as the Dragons Den One Challenge, which I was not expecting to have the chance to take part in, but which really made my internship experience greater. I feel they encouraged you to think outside the box and to push yourself further than you would have expected.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I have been given a graduate job offer and I am very much looking forward to starting with the firm next September. I have really enjoyed my time here, including the work I have done and especially the people I have met and I hope to be able too continue these positive experiences during my graduate job.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • Yes, we were given plenty of opportunities to socialise not only with the other interns but with other members of staff within out office and through the induction at Windsor and the Dragons Den challenge, with interns and staff from other offices, all of which were extremely enjoyable experiences for me. I feel like I have made some real friends during my time here.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I live at home quite near the office anyway, so I find the cost of living and socialising here very reasonable. Even when we went down to London, which is much more expensive than here, we were well subsidised and I felt the money we were given more than covered the costs we had to undertake to be there.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I really enjoy the nightlife here normally and during my internship I had plenty of opportunities to go on nights out with the other interns and staff in the office. This was probably my first real experience of a staff night out as I haven't really had the opportunity for staff nights out at previous jobs. Everyone was really good fun and I really enjoyed it.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were plenty of opportunities for socialising at night with staff from the office. I know there were also opportunities to do take part in activities during the day in the office but as I was out at clients for all of my internship but they sound like the sort of activities I would like to take part in, if i have the opportunity to, when I come back for my grad job.
