    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Overall, I had a very enjoyable experience. Firstly, the location of the office and the building itself were great and the area made it easy to arrange socials, be it within the team or amongst fellow interns. I learnt a lot of new things and further enhanced both my technical and strategic skills.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The whole team was very friendly and approachable when I asked for it. I did a lot of client related work and wrote articles which contributed to it, and that made me feel valued by the team through my work. Upon requesting further work and asking for reviews and feedback, most colleagues were more than happy to assist.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Some catch ups were arranged and upon asking to have more meetings to discuss issues/concerns or what I鈥檓 interested in working on next, my people manager and buddy were always available. It would have been nicer to have more regular catch ups or even a simple check in to see how I was getting along and if there was any other opportunities or tasks available.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days were more hectic than others. Initially I got placed on a project and had to juggle deadlines simultaneously. Other times I struggled to find work to do but I was proactive in arranging work shadowing with colleagues in the line of work I was interested in and asking for some tasks to do or even reviewing and researching some material. How busy you are depends on how much you seek to enhance your own personal development and actively search for new tasks or work to do.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The team was friendly and happy to help when approached. Generally, everyone was happy and had pleasant conversations in between doing work too. Even when moving around the office and away from your team, pleasantries were exchanged everywhere. The office itself was located centrally with several restaurants nearby which made it easier and more convenient to arrange socials with interns and the colleagues.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The projects available to the interns did not taking into consideration the prior experience or skill set of the intern. The majority of available projects were catered to one set of skills which of course, may not be everyone's cup of tea. There was not enough time to first develop the skills required and then embark on the project, and it was a quite difficult to do both at the same time. However, some colleagues were more than happy to allow you to work shadow and delegate tasks depending on the availability of work as well as their schedule.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • In the beginning, we went on a three day induction training course in Windsor, allowing us to meet our fellow interns, Senior Associates, Partners and gauge a good understanding of our Line of Service. Basic IT training, time sheets and general administration aid was given. We got to socialise with our colleagues a lot. There was even a Dragon's Den project running throughout the entire duration of the internship, encouraging us to put innovative ideas forward and form teams in order to collaboratively conjure up a solution and implementation of our ideas. Follow up meetings and catch ups were common practise which helped aid personal development. Feedback was also provided at the end of the internship.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • They have a 5 year automated promotion scheme which is very appealing. This is a good incentive to work hard and develop your skills in a variety of areas. People Managers are delegated to everyone, allowing for smooth personal progression and development through feedback and the assignment of projects catered to your skill set. There is the opportunity to transfer to other teams if the availability is there which opens more doors for personal development and career options within the organisation. Training courses and University Masters degrees are also encouraged and if you get a full-time job here, funded.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • Everyone kept in touch, even after the training where a massive bunch of us was split up into smaller groups/pairs to be placed in our own teams. Group chats were set up and it was good to see that everyone used it actively. Several socials were arranged, be it in the team or even across different offices. There was also a couple of socials in the teams such as going to team lunches. There was at least one or two socials every week to attend on Fridays after work. The Dragon's Den project meant that more people were interacting and engaging in this extra curricular work thus, making it an enjoyable internship.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Being London, it was obviously very expensive. Especially to rent but also when grabbing lunch/dinner or drinks. This may have been what held many interns back from wanting to socialise and go out more. Nonetheless, the costing is something that is beyond our control and since the location of the office and the building itself is very nice, it's fairly easy to overlook the high cost, especially when you're enjoying your job.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Good but expensive.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • 3/5
