The Role
I enjoyed it very much - gives a good overview of the grad scheme at PwC and working life in general. Everyone was extremely helpful and at times went out of their way to help me out + the fact that I got to do real work and helped my team deliver.
They helped me out a lot - at times going out of their way even, understanding that they too came from a similar situation and had to be regularly helped out in their early days.
A lot of constant support - making sure that I was on the right track and doing as well as I can.
Kept very busy!
A lot - I was given the responsibility a first year on the grad scheme would have, this meant that I got a good overview of what assurance will be like for a graduate.
I managed to improve on my time management a lot and got to build rapport with my seniors which I feel will last a long time. It probably won't help me with my degree but probably will help me settle down faster to life after university!
The Company
Very friendly, everyone was very helpful but at the same time it felt like a normal office, a very work hard play hard culture which I really enjoy.
To an extent it was very well organised but at times resourcing was an issue, it would have been nicer to get more exposure in different sectors instead of being booked into a particular job for more than half your internship, though this then meant I got to do tasks which were were technically beyond my capabilities allowing me to learn more.
Whenever I needed help or tried something new, almost all of my seniors were there to explain and coach to me the task in hand. And they explained it extremely well - showing the level of training they receive and the understanding they have of the work they are doing.
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing - there are many options to try new lines of service and get further skills after spending a few years as a graduate.
The Culture
Yes, it was encouraged as well, this way we could keep in touch even if we weren't around the office much., but outside of this not too much.
Fairly cheap, though I do study in central london so everything outside of there seems cheap to me. Irrespective of that it's still very affordable.
There's almost no nightlife near my area - uxbridge
Not many as I was constantly busy and had something to help out with my team. So even if there was any opportunities outside of work I wouldn't be able to get involved in them. However we did have a team training and team building activity day which was extremely fun, though this doesn't happen often!
