The Role
Really got an insight in to what life at PwC was like as i was out at clients, in the office working on clients, working on pensions and also was involved in social events, all in 6 weeks.
I felt the colleagues i worked with really appreciated my help on every job as even though i slowed them down at times by asking questions, i still made the overall process easier and quicker (their words not mine).
There was always an in-charge or manager around to offer any support or advice whether i was out at a client or in the office. My people manager always gave me guidance too, from day-to-day help to helping when i needed advice about taking time off work for a hospital appointment.
There were some days i felt quite burdened by the work load but this is easily made smaller by just asking for help with certain things. I was happy to attempt a large workload however, but there were also days which were more relaxed. This was useful for me as it showed what work would really be like when working for a firm like PwC as it won't always be the same amount of work.
There were time throughout my internship where i really did feel responsible for what was happening, for example when i am in a proper meeting with clients discussing how a business works or how the audit will run.
I feel the skills i have picked up during my internship will benefit me throughout my entire career as long as i stay within the financial sector. These skills range from using PwC's own software to my general use of IT, specifically excel.
The Company
Everyone was friendly and made me feel welcome. We had an office BBQ in my third week which was great as it meant we could take some time out of work to really get to know each other properly and we even ended up going out after. This made me more comfortable with people in the office as i knew some of there personalities better so could have more meaningful discussions in the office.
The only problem i had with the internship which means it wasn't a 10 is that during my first 'induction' week, there was a section that was there to tour your office and meet the team but as i was in a small office we weren't in our office for this induction. This meant i had to wait until the next week to meet everyone but other than this everything ran smoothly with me getting a lot of opportunities, such as working in different sectors and even a chance to shadow a senior member of staff.
This 6 weeks has shown how much PwC want to invest n people to benefit not just themselves but also future generations in general as everything i have done throughout the internship i feel has made me a better auditor and a better worker in general.

As far as we have been told and what i can tell, there are a lot of young people around who have just come out of uni or are here on placement so it seems as long as we don't make a large costly mistake then we should have a high chance of receiving an offer of some sort.
The Culture
I feel this score would have been higher if i had been in a bigger office as there was only 2 interns at my office including me. There were however chances to do activities with the other interns from other offices as well as chances to do things with the others in the office on placement years or graduate programmes.
I stayed at home in my uni city of Sheffield which because i know where to go to get the best offers, this was cheap and overall a great experience.
I was in my uni city of Sheffield as i said before so i knew where to go for the best night out to suit me and luckily this fit well with others already in the office.
Whilst i still got involved in a few activities such as sports, the bbq and another night out or two, it seems like there are unlimited opportunities if you are here full time for work.
