The Role
I very much enjoyed the internship as I got to do a lot of different jobs as well as visited a few client sites - it was never boring.
My colleagues were indeed very welcoming and encouraging, always answered any questions that I had and were concerned about my wellbeing as well as my experiences within the firm.
I was always given support and guidance by my supervisors and I could always come to them for advice.
There were times when I had loads of work, but also there were a few occasions when I was less busy. Overall, I could say that I was kept quite busy considering that I had very little previous accounting experience.
Overall, I was not given much responsibility as I was just an intern with no previous accounting experience. However, on some occasions I was trusted with some very important pieces of work and therefore I could say that it really depends on the type of work you are doing.
I believe that I will be able to use all the skills that I have developed as well as the training in the future, as I definitely became more confident, improved my financial literacy and got some invaluable business experience.
The Company
Very welcoming - everyone were kind and always asking how I was doing and encouraging to come for a chat if I was struggling.
I would say that it was very well organised as we had some training, some on site jobs as well as spent some time at the office.
The firm ensured that I received proper training in advance of starting my work at the office as well as my colleagues were constantly providing further assistance and training during my time with PwC.
National Travel
The future employment prospects within PwC are indeed very appealing, where you are ensured proper training and have an opportunity to obtain professional qualifications.
The Culture
We had our 3 day training where we stayed at a hotel and did a lot of team building activities, yet in the office the social scene was poorer as there were only a few of us interns and sometimes we all were working on separate projects on site therefore we rarely met.
Reasonable cost.
We didn't have any nightlife experiences.
There were only a few opportunities such as a Dragon's Den challenge, but considering the fact that I was with the firm for only 6 weeks I think if I stayed longer there would be more opportunities.
