About You
As PwC was not my first choice when it comes to doing an internship, it did not really think about what to expect. I was positively surprised concerning the overall experience I had at PwC. The organisation was just awesome. There were other interns as well with who I collaborated and the team I worked with was really knowledgeable and friendly.
On the whole I felt really valued in my firm. I knew that the work environment at investment banks is rather busy and that I would be left alone with a lot of tasks. Nevertheless, I had somebody to contact with whatever issue I had and my work was respected as I tried to put in 100% of effort.
Despite my previous answer, I always received enough guidance to solve any tasks. Creative freedom and different approahches were definitely valued. However, expectation management was valued too, so goals were always to be reached, and this was communicated very clearly. But once I figured out how to cope with delivering good results, I could focus more on actually learning which made my internship extremely valuable.
I developed a lot of interdisciplinary skills, such as human skills. These are really valuable not only for my career but in every situation in life. Obviously, I only have my friends’ report to compare my experience with but this aspect is definitely why I would recommend anybody to do this internship, even if you are not as interested in auditing.
The Company
The insight was well structured. I had to follow a clear shedule but was allowed to be free when it comes to assigning my personal resources. The staff was prepared to spend time with me and thus was never hesitant to help me out whenever needed. I am astonsihed about that, especially because consultants meticulously track their time.
The atmosphere was quite competitive as you would expect from an internship at a prestigious investment bank. Everyone was trying to show leadership during group tasks which is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. Nevertheless, everyone was not arrogant or anything like that. We all networked with each other and I made some friends which I’ll probably stay longer in contact with.
They cared about every intern that was there and tried their best to show the company from their best side. Everything was planned well and to provide us attendees at the programme a great experience that will benefit us as individuals (growth of skills) and to provide us information about what the company does.
To a great extent. The presentations were really helpful to show the career possibilities and the group tasks involved real life tasks that showcased the daily life of the employees. I definitely want to work PwC in the future and it showed my finally what this career path will be right for me.
The company culture is great and full of passion and motivation. It makes you better person and gives you an incentive to become better. Everyone is extremely talented and smart. But this is exactly the culture or environment you want to be. If you talk with employees or play close attention it will more than enough to gain an understanding of the culture.
Everything Else
This internship is a great opportunity for everyone who wants to learn more not only about PwC but also about yourself. It is for Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs who strive to become better and want to educate their selves about what is out there. It is competitive to get in and requires hard work. For anyone who is not willing to do those above mentioned things, the internship is not right for you. If yes, I would give it a shot.
