About You
I really enjoyed getting a feel for PwC and talking to a range of people. However, a week was quite short and sometimes there was not much to do and a lack of knowledge about who was in charge of you.
Everyone was very friendly and keen to make you feel welcome.
I received a lot of guidance and support from HR and also a support from my team when asked for. However, a lot of knowledge was assumed and therefore not explained.
It will definitely help inform my job choices and give me an indication of what its like in the working world. Will also help in interviews.
The Company
The structure much depended on which team you were put into. I ended up with a lack of structure because no one was sure who was in charge of me and so I wouldn't know where I was meant to go each day and what time I was meant to arrive/leave etc.
It was friendly and welcoming.
One of my mentors gave me an elearning course to go on. Otherwise I just had to ask questions to improve my learning.
It helped in that I saw what it would be like everyday and I was able to ask people what it is like. However, I was not given any high level tasks (understandably) and so do not have a clear idea.
I really grasped the company culture from being there and seeing how employees communicate and the hours they do etc.
It was valuable, however hard to grasp whether I would enjoy it full time.
Everything Else
I was paid a good wage. However travel and accommodation were not covered, and rent in London for a week is far higher than the wage.
Yes, it was easy to walk around and meet new people and be introduced.
Not during the week that I was there.
Yes, I found out about sports teams and charity events and marathons.
Yes I would, to get a feel for the company as a whole.
