The Role
I felt like I was a regular member of the firm from day 1. Any questions I asked were answered openly and I never once felt out of place or intimidated by my colleagues.
I was given all the help and support I required and requested during my time at PwC. Due to the nature of my internship, I had to learn how to use programming software within a week to complete the tasks I was set. Initially it was a struggle and plenty of questions were asked to clarify whether what I was doing was correct, however each question was answered without any ridicule.
The Company
The atmosphere was very laid-back. Employees worked hard but were always open to answer questions, regardless of their level. It did not feel too stressed or intense at any stage even though a lot of hard work was being completed.
The overall placement was well organised. For Data Assurance, there was no set timetable, however each week a new chance to shadow a director or partner, or experience different parts of the business was on offer.
The training and development overall was of a good level. PwC invested the time and money into all of the training events we had. The only issue was Data Assurance specific. We had about a day and a half's training on technical software that we would be using every day. For those of us who had little experience of programming prior to the internship, it was difficult start to the work once we got into the office and began on real projects.
