The Role
I had the best year on work placement at PwC. I was exposed to a number of exciting projects and given real responsibility. It enabled me to grow both professionally and personally
I felt extremely valued by my colleagues and was consistently given recognition for my hard work. I was rewarded for high quality work by being given more responsibility. My team were really keen on ensuring I got the most out of my year by allowing me to meet senior partners from different areas of the business and work shadow in order to get a boarder understanding of the firm and it's offerings post university.
My managers and supervisors were really supportive however also allowed me to do things my own way due to our trusting relationships
I was always extremely busy, sometimes I would be reporting into a number of managers working on different projects which initially was overwhelming however everyone was understanding and let me manage my own time and encouraged me to speak up if I had too much on.
As previously mentioned I was given a lot of responsibility on my placement year, stemming from the strong relationships I had with my team. They were extremely trusting and allowed me to take the lead on a number of small projects which was great for improving my skills and confidence in a professional environment.
I learnt so many invaluable skills that I will be able to transfer to my university studies such as time management, working in teams and leadership of both myself and others
