The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed my 11 months here. Challenging right from the start however extremely rewarding on a personal level.
Unlike comparing my experiences with other professional services firm, there was no discrimination in the duties and the workload between the placements 西瓜视频s and the graduates who were hired at the same time. Felt as if your work was adding value to the teams end goal
Each placement 西瓜视频 has there own "People Manager" who help with all issues when required. For the team based work there is a large support network that you can go to for assistance. Always felt like there was sufficient support.
Depending on the time of year and the particular client you were working on, the workload would vary. 西瓜视频ing a balance between college work and client was tough but manageable.
For a placement 西瓜视频 I felt that I was given a significant amount of responsibility which did vary from client to client. Onus on yourself to seek more responsibility if you wished.
For my Accounting degree, couldn't have asked for a more relevant placement to help with my final year. To start the ACA qualification during placement year I think also is very useful
The Company
Most of placement year was spent at client sites rather than head office. Teams on site were always friendly and supportive, and general atmosphere when at the office was very positive.
Very well organised year, as spent the same amount of training and college time as the graduates, clear pathway going forward.
For a placement 西瓜视频, there was a real intention for the firm that there was a future for you there. Completing 7/15 ACA examinations the same training as all of the graduates that joined at the same time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Very exciting and highly likely of the full time job! Recruitment process is exactly the same for both placements and graduates. I was offered the job conditional on achieving 2:1 overall in my degree.
The Culture
The social aspect is one of the real high points of the year, with monthly socials and other company organised events.
As already go to university within Birmingham, had an idea of what the social life was like. Commuted from home in Wolverhampton. Would highly recommend the city as a base for a placement year, with socializing being relatively inexpensive and of a high quality.
Birmingham is a large city with plenty available for drinks, food and clubs. Large variety to suit all needs.
Plenty to get involved with outside of work, with a well funded sports committee. Many one off events throughout the year for both fundraising and just for fun, within your teams at work.
