The Role
I really enjoyed the internship. From the first day the responsibilities I was given was the same as a graduate, this helped me feel valued by the firm. The office was great, with break out areas to have quick catch ups. I would definitely recommend the internship, one of my best experiences to date.
I felt really valued by my colleagues. I was able to carry out loads on meaningful work. My colleagues were always happy to help me out and walk me through difficult tasks or any questions I had. I was invited to loads of social drinks to really merge into the team and get to know everyone better.
The management/supervision was great throughout the internship. I was able to reach out to any of my seniors at any point throughout the internship to ask for help and guidance. I was regularly able to receive formal and informal feedback to work towards achieving my objectives. PwC has a great culture!
Fortunately, I was busy throughout the whole internship as I was working on a client whose year-end was approaching. In cases where I didn鈥檛 have much work, it was easy to reach out to the seniors in my team to ask for more work. There was also loads of training that can be accessed in times when you may not have much work on.
I was given a lot of responsibility during the internship, same as a first year graduate. The team had full belief in my capabilities and allowed me to carry out important tasks. I was able to carry out a variety of tasks, asking for certain work I find interesting.
I was able to develop my communication skills immensely, this is an invaluable skills and will help me beyond studies. My presentation skills were also improved through the Dragons Den challenge where I had to present to over 170 people. I was able to use my initiative on a daily basis to organise shadowing.
