    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The six week summer internship programme at pwc was a great opportunity for me to get to know the audit process at pwc. I have developed a better understanding of the daily work of an auditor and improved my business awareness by visiting several companies throughout the internship programme as part of my work.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • As mentioned before, working with my colleagues was one of my personal highlights of the internship for me. Throughout the internship I felt like I was an integral part of the team and this was also reflected by the amount of responsibility we were given from day one as interns. I am looking forward to working with my colleagues again in the future.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I have received a good extent of support and guidance by my supervisor. Every intern has a people manager who arranges at least three meetings with you in order to make sure that everything is fine. The concept of having a people manager is in my opinion a great idea as he provides necessary support and guidance throughout the internship.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The internship offered a good balance of busy and less busy days. This depends on the client I was working with and the team. However, especially during the induction event in the first week I had plenty of time for networking with my fellow interns and making sure to understand the fundamentals of the upcoming work.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As mentioned previously, I really enjoyed the fact that we as interns were already given a good amount of responsibility. This included face to face client interaction where I could ask questions to the clients in order to get the information for my team and to keep the audit process going. This is definitely a positive aspect of the internship.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I am confident that the skills I developed and the training I received during the internship will help me in my future career. Especially at university the knowledge I have built regarding the audit process will help me to better understand the theoretical frameworks. Furthermore I could improve my interpersonal skills which will help me in the future.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Although I have not worked in the office that much, I have really enjoyed my time and the atmosphere in the office. Everyone seems to be open and ready to offer their help when I needed it. Furthermore there is free coffee and drinks provided in the office which is always good to have!

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was very well organised by the 西瓜视频 recruitment team. The first part consisted of an induction event near London where we could get to know all of the other interns. After that, we were invited to take part in a local office induction. There was basically no time for me when I did not have anything to do which was great.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • In my opinion, PwC has invested a lot of time and resources for training and development for us interns. The induction event was just one example of how many resources the company has invested in us so that we could do our work effectively and make the most out of our internship. That is truly unique for an internship.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • National Travel

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • After the six week summer internship programme, a future employment at PwC would be highly appealing for me as this was something I have greatly enjoyed. Since the internship programme is designed to be an extended assessment centre, many interns will receive an offer at the end of the internship depending on the performance during the internship programme.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • The social scene amongst fellow interns is really good as we were able to get to know every intern at the induction event in the first week of the internship. Furthermore, all interns were invited to participate in a challenge organised exclusively for the interns which supported the good social scene. Moreover, we were invited to several other meetings which improved the social scene even more.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Although Liverpool is one of the largest cities in the UK, the prices are relatively low compared to the South of England. The cost of living and socialising in the area are quite good and affordable for 西瓜视频s. Especially during the summer months it is relatively easy to find an affordable 西瓜视频 accommodation in the city which is also close to the office/train station.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Liverpool is famous for its great nightlife and I was able to go out with my colleagues several times throughout my internship. It is a great city which offers a lot of activities at night. Furthermore, most of the clubs and pubs are relatively close to each other which makes it easy to try many places during a night out.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • The Liverpool office in particular has a great social scene to get involved outside of work. I was able to participate in several activities, including a Karting event, a sports day and a theatre night. This is definitely worth checking out during the internship as it helps with networking and getting to know new people.
