The Role
I enjoyed the internship very much. I was given a lot of responsibility and treated just like a graduate. Everyone is so lovely and helpful!
I felt that my team valued me a lot. I was given tasks which would have been assigned to any other member of the team. I felt very involved with all the discussions that took place.
I was assigned a people manager and a buddy during the whole internship which helped me settle in well. I would communicate with both on a regular basis to discuss my progession and development. The managers on my client jobs were also very helpful and welcoming. I felt comfortable to ask for guidance if I needed it.
While I was on client sites, I had enough work to keep me occupied for the whole day. There was a few days which I had not been booked on to any client, but I used this time for the Dragons Den project and e learn training.
I was given just as much responsibilty as a graduate.
I developed many skills including communication, organistaion and team work. All of which will help me in any professional environment.
The Company
I did not spend much time in the office, but from what I experienced it was very relaxed and professional. Everyone was friendly and willing to offer help if needed.
It was organised perfectly! The first week was a great way to settle in. We spent 3 days in Windsor and 2 days in the office for an induction. It was a great way to get to know all the other interns and learn the basics of what will be involved in the internship.
The firm invests a lot of time to make sure you are learning and developing during the internship. In Windsor, we had 3 days of training and learning the basics of Assurance/audit which was a great platform for the 5 weeks ahead. During you the internship we also had to complete elearn training which helps us understand what PwC expect from us and what we expect from them.
National Travel
Very appealing! I am hoping to get an offer from them very soon. This internship is a really good insight into what it would be like to work for them on a full time basis.
The Culture
All the other interns in my office were very sociable!
The cost of living is fairly average. As the office is in the city centre, there are plently of places to visit to socialise.
There are plenty of clubs in the area.
There are not a lot of opportunties for interns as we are only there for a limited amount of time, but my collegues have said that there are so many things to do outside of work. There is something for everyone!
