    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • PwC go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your time there. The placement starts with a residential which is great fun and allows you to meet people before getting into the office. At times the work can be very repetitive, however the people you meet and the social aspect more than makes up for it.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Overall I felt well valued by the people I worked with. Teams which need help can request and intern so generally they are very welcoming. The intern scheme is well established and many of the staff have been through the internship programme themselves so staff know your skill level and the kind of work you鈥檒l be able to complete.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The support scheme at PwC is really well set up. When you start you have two main points of contact; a People Manager, who is in charge of your feedback and how you are finding the placement, and a Buddy who is generally 1-2 years into their job at PwC who you can ask any other random questions to. On top of that, during the training and when working with different teams you meet many people who are happy to give you guidance and support regarding a career in PwC, the ACA exams and anything else you can think of.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Teams which need help can request an intern so generally there is a fair bit of work to do. I found when I was with a team I was kept really busy and there was the opportunity to work shadow and attend internal and client meetings. I found that there have been a few times when there has been very little or no work to do mainly due to it being a quiet time of the year in the office so the amount of work which can be completed by and unskilled intern is limited. There is a Dragons Den style competition which is good for spending any of your spare time on.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The majority of the time you are expected to complete tasks on your own. The team were always completely welcoming to any questions and would tutor you through a task before asking you to do it. I was working with audits that were involved in the planning stage and my responsibilities varied from general admin like meeting minutes and slides to contacting people for documentation and financial statement analytics.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills developed during my time at PwC will be very useful to me in the future, although not particularly relevant to my current degree. I have found that my Excel skills have developed the most, alongside really basic work place skills. Such as emailing, meeting minutes and interpersonal skills. I feel PwC is a really great place to learn, everyone I came across was happy to help me with anything I didn鈥檛 know.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office is very relaxed and friendly. I think this is mainly due to the fact the majority of the people who work at PwC are relatively young. The More London office a really nice place to work and the hot-desk policy means you can be in a different place each day.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Due to the internship programme being well established here it is very well organised. The first three days are a residential which is a great way to meet people and the training here helps you with the basic skills you will need to start the job. It was especially helpful for me as I do not have am not doing an accounting degree like the majority of the other interns. The final two days of the first week are an office induction and IT training which make it really easy for you when you start your first day of actual work. After this week you are booked on to different jobs by the resourcing department. This is the area of the internship which I found the least organised.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • You can tell PwC invests a lot into the interns. They spend a considerable amount of money on both the residential and the training. There are also a huge number of people within the firm who offer their time to help with training, welcoming you into the office and ensuring that you are busy and enjoying yourself.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The future employment prospect within PwC are very appealing to me. In my time here I have really enjoyed the office culture and it is easy to see how it is one of the top companies to work for. It offers a career that has many opportunities to grow and travel whilst remaining within the company.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • The social aspect of the internship was one of the best parts. Due to there being so many interns at the London offices there were always people to grab lunch with and get drinks after work. There was also a lot of opportunity to socialise with people of all levels within PwC as most teams go out for a few drinks on Fridays evenings.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is a very expensive place to live and go out. As a 西瓜视频 already living here it wasn鈥檛 too bad for me as I already have a flat. I think the London wage does reflect the increased cost of living, however, if you were to move into London jut for the placement it would be extremely expensive.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • PwC does have a large number of social clubs however there is no easy was to browse which clubs are available and join them. It seemed like you had to ask around for someone to put you in contact with a member of the club. Additionally, as it was the quitter summer months I think less of the clubs were running.
