The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at PwC, I always felt welcomed by everyone and every day was unique which made each day exciting. There was always someone around to look out for me, and help me if I needed help. I got to deal with real client tasks with genuine responsibility which made the work I was doing a lot more exciting.
I always felt valued by my work colleagues. A lot of them would go out of their way in order to thank me for some of the work I was doing. At times I would be asked to do some of the more mundane and repetitive tasks, however this was made up for by the fact everyone was so grateful for me doing them.
I was given more than enough support during my time at PwC. If I was unclear on a task that I was supposed to be doing, I would not feel remotely scared of asking for some help until I fully understood what I was doing. I was surprised that I was able to ask so many questions without feeling as if I was being an annoyance.
My busyness varied a lot. Some days (particularly those that involved some kind of client work) I felt were packed full of things, some days were far more quiet and I had to search far harder in order to find things to do. I never found myself having too much to do, and I never felt pressured into staying really long hours in order to complete my workload. I must say though it is important to be proactive at PwC.
I鈥檇 say that I was given my fair share of responsibility considering the fact that I was only in the office really for five weeks and entering the work place with limited knowledge of what to do. I got to work on genuine client work and felt as though I made good input at times. As well as that I was given access to confidential data, so obviously this was a big responsibility.
The Company
I was placed at the Embankment Place office which literally sits on top of Charing Cross station. This makes it an amazing location to start with for things like lunch, commuting and socials. The feel inside the office is great, everyone is fairly relaxed and friendly. You can very easily just ask someone how their day is going without getting a funny look.
The internship has been incredible well organised. The whole stages, from applying to getting into the office, has been extremely fluid and very well communicated. There have been times when nobody has really known what I am supposed to be doing, but they are few and far between. The organisation of the induction week as well is incredible well done and definitely helps you start on the front foot.
I was always encouraged to learn new things during my time at PwC. There was one particular time where I was drafting some ideas using SQL whilst waiting for a Senior Associate to help me but he ended up encouraging me and coaching me to write my first script with limited help. I have also been given the chance to take part in some online courses during my time here in order to further my learning.

I would love the opportunity to come back and work for PwC. The people at PwC definitely make the company! It is quite common for interns to be offered a conditional graduate job for after the finish university, which is just an added bonus really to an amazing and enjoyable experience.
The Culture
All the interns become incredibly close and it is always fun to be able to share different experiences with each other. We would occasionally have lunch together and would often meet up on a Friday after work and at least go to a pub somewhere for a drink. It is a good way to meet other people from PwC as well.
I was quite lucky and was able to live with my family not too far from London. However I know some of the other interns have had to pretty much pay more than they are being paid in order to rent and live whilst they are working here. My main outgoings whilst I am here are lunch and commuting. I probably spend around 拢15 for both. As well as this, it is quite common to go for drinks on the Thursday/Friday, which is very expensive.
