    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed my placement at Pricewaterhouse Coopers very much. I was working in a fast growing, extremely interesting area of the business and PwC itself is a hugely exciting company to work for. The range of clients and projects that they work on makes them an amazing place to work.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The team were very good at including me and were very friendly in showing me the ropes. They made themselves readily available for feedback as well as providing many shadowing opportunities so that I could get the most out my placement. I definitely felt like one of the team rather than just the intern.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My management I found to be very supportive and friendly. One of the best things about working at PwC is that there is no super strict hierarchy. At previous jobs I would not interact much with those much more senior than myself. This placement was very different and I frequently interacted with senior managers and partners.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The placement started slow and I did not have a huge amount of work to do myself. Although I did not have a huge amount of work myself - I was provided with plenty of shadowing opportunities so as to develop my knowledge on my own and learn more about the business in general. After a couple of weeks I was given a project that took up a lot more of my time.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office was great. There were many social activities and everyone was very friendly. There is a good hot-desking system so often you end up sitting in different places week-to-week and therefore get to meet more people and learn more about the different areas of PwC and the specific jobs of those individuals.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There are plenty of opportunities within the company to attend learning events or other forms of training. I went to various different learning sessions during work hours to understand more about how the different functions of the firm operate. They were also great ways to meet more graduates and interns and network.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • PwC is a very appealing company when it comes to employment prospects. There is an ethos of "you get out what you put in" meaning it is possible to work extremely hard and move up the grades at a fast pace but it is not neccesarily required. The jobs and projects are very cutting edge and interesting and the opportunities within the firm are huge.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • There was a fantastic social scene amongst both other interns and colleagues. I made a great many friends on the internship that I saw a lot outside of work hours. There are a huge amount of events going on that allow for social interaction. People are always invited along to drinks and the whole atmosphere is very inclusive.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • With the placement being in London, the cost of living was not cheap. I actually lived in reading as I go to university there and therefore am already paying for accomodation. The commute from Reading to London center every day was very expensive. The cost of socialising was not too bad. A beer is probably 4 pounds or so.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife is fantastic as the placement was situated in central london. There were a great many bars extremely close to the office that a lot of people frequented after work. The opportunity to go to clubs was also there as there are a lot within a few stops on the tube although I did not partake.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • 4/5
