The Role
Really enjoyed this internship. I've had a good deal of work without feeling too pressured and have learnt a lot in a short time.
There's a lot of mutual respect here, so I felt valued at all times.
There was as much support as I needed. Because things went well I didn't require a lot of guidance from my manager, but they were available when required.
In general, I was busy enough that I had work to be getting on with constantly, but I was also able to choose other small projects and organise shadowing as I liked, so this was perfect.
I was given more responsibility than I expected. I attended client meetings and prepared documents for various projects.
I have definitely learnt a huge amount during my time here, and I believe this will be extremely helpful in my future career.
The Company
The atmosphere is hard working, but also relaxed. There is an expectation that you will get your work done, but no-one is looking over your shoulder constantly, which helps productivity. The people in the office made me feel very welcome very quickly and I didn't feel stressed.
The internship started with a brief induction on external premises. When I arrived in the office, I was already booked onto various projects, so the internship was organised very well. I was informed of the various deadlines well ahead of time.
As mentioned above, the firm started with a 3 day induction, but other training opportunities were available to me. I attended a couple of courses based around technology skills, which were excellent.
Subsidised Canteen
I would be very keen to work here in the future. I believe that there are sufficient graduate places for all interns, but they require you to do high quality work and show enthusiasm during your time here.
The Culture
Social scene was good with colleagues. There were drinks on Fridays and a larger social event which I part-organised. Overall, very pleased with this.
I was in London so costs were high, but that is to be expected.
London has a great nightlife.
Yes, I was kept in the loop for the various activities that those in my department were attending.
