  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A lot of team work, real work, very nice seniors, and they took time to teach me a lot of things. There was a lot of client exposure.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Very much, and they encourage us to stay with the firm and stay with the team

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • A lot. Seniors spent a lot of time and attention on us, making sure we understand new comcepts and guide us through the work.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Got to office at 930 and left at 530. It's a quiet season for audit so it was pretty good hour

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had to work on collecting and testing individual audit evidences, call client and arrange client meetings.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I gained lots of knowledge in Accounting, which I have never learnt before. The job cultivated my interest in accounting and assurance, and I hope to learn in further in university and in work.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I am based in Hay's Gellaria in PwC London, I would say that the atmosphere here is less intense and more friendly than More London office. Colleagues are very helpful, directors are very nice as well. There is friday treats every week, and it was really fun. The office is not crowded, can find a seat any time.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was organised overall and I was given clear instructions at the beginning. However, I was moved to another team without prior discussion and I didn't manage to join the team that I wanted at the beginning. But the team I am re-allocated to has really nice seniors and manager, and I was given many interesting tasks and senior spent a lot of time teaching me. So I enjoyed my current team a lot which offset my disappointment at the beginning.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • PwC has arranged plenty of training on interns, and expect us to add value to the work and service. Seniors also spend a lot of time coaching us. Even I am from a non-accounting background, nearer the end of the internship, I was aware of many aspects of the technicals, and I was able to handle real work.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Working from home

    2/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • It is a very clear hierarchy in the firm. Many juniors were struggling with pressure and work but some of them have very positive and clear career goal. Others might consider leaving after a few years but the firm also offers plenty of internal transfers. I believe that the high mobility in the firm is a really a highlight of PwC.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • Yes, there is team events like Thursday drinks, many social events for each social group, and we can involve in all kinds of activities to get socialised. Sometimes other Line of Services will have their own events such as Ball, and they could invite us to join as well. During work, as interns we catch up during lunch or after work to share our experiences.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living in London is too high compared to the amount of pay. Travel is not sponsored so it is very expensive taking the tube. Living near to the office is even more expensive, and the food around the area is also not cheap. But it is very convenient here as there are lots of restaurants and bars for socialising.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I am based near London Bridge so there are lots of bars and restaurants around the area, they are all very lively at nice. Sometimes there are food market and events near City Hall. The view near tower bridge is just breathtaking. There is also Thames cruise nearby. So there are a lot of places to go at night.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There is an intern challenge for everyone, it takes the form of online forum, which involves everyone in the country. It was very ineractive and we can view, rate and comment on other people's idea, form a team and present to the board at the end of the internship. There is also social groups for us to join.
