    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship has exceeded my expectations by far. In particular, I never thought I would be shadowing a partner in a client meeting, which turned out to be a huge learning opportunity. Many seinor members in the team also took time to chat with me about their work and give me guidance on my careers. I got the opportunity to work with a lot of different people from the team and work on a variety of tasks.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I feel that my colleagues appreciate my work. They also invited me to attend meetings and external calls to give me a flavour of the various work here. I feel that I am supported and encouraged to learn, and people always acknowledge my work while providing me with valuable feedback to help me improve.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • In my first week, my people manager helped me set clear and mesearable objectives for the internship. He then followed up with my progress during the mid-way meeting. My supervisors were also very willing to give me detailed feedback (acknowledging my work and providing advice).

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The internship turned out to be a lot busier than I expected. However, I volunteered to stay a bit late sometimes in order to follow the progress of the work and to learn a bit more.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • 3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • 5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere is good - people are often busy but the atmosphere was never intense. Therefore, I was never intimidated to ask questions whenever I was stuck on something. The senior members sat with more junior members, which made it easier to communicate and for junior members to learn from more senior members.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The whole internship was organised very well, from the induction to the meeting with people manager to settling down in the office. I rarely felt confused as to what to do during my internship. When I was confused, people were always willing to answer my questions. Apart from the support from my people manager, I was also assigned a buddy to help me with any informal queries I had.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I had a whole week of induction prior to my internship, which included three days' in-house training (technical trainings, networking and team exercises) and two days' local office training on IT and setting objectives. During my internship, I also had access to a lot of graduate training materials to help me learn the technical aspects of my work. I feel that the firm is very committed to employees' personal development.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The future employment prospects within the company is very appealing. Firstly, the firm invests greatly in its people. For graduates, the study package for professional exams is very generous (one paid study day every week, study materials and tutorials). Also, since PwC is a big firm, I can also get support from a lot of my peers for my exams. Secondly, the people at PwC are reliable and keen to help me with my development.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • During my internship, the PwC More London office organised a pub quiz, which was a charity event to help to educate the inmates in Africa. Many people from my team went to the pub quiz, including myself, and I got to know my colleagues in a more informal setting. We had really great fun during the event.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living is relatively high in London. However, the pay from the internship was fairly generous and so I was able to pay for the living costs.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
